Organizing picture day for your homeschool co-op doesn't have to be complicated. We've photographed co-ops throughout the Austin area and have streamlined the process to make it easy for organizers and fun for families.

Why Co-ops Love Having Picture Day

Homeschool families often miss out on the traditional school photo experience. But there's no reason your co-op can't have professional portraits that look just as good - or better - than what traditional schools get.

Picture day gives your community:

  • Professional yearbook-quality photos
  • A fun milestone event everyone can participate in
  • Consistent portraits for co-op yearbooks or directories
  • Photos that actually capture each child's personality

What You Need to Organize

Here's the good news: not much. We bring all the equipment, handle all the photography, and manage the entire ordering process. Your job as organizer is simply to:

  1. Pick a date - Weekends work great, or any day that fits your co-op's schedule
  2. Secure a location - Your regular meeting space, a member's home, or a park
  3. Spread the word - Let families know about picture day and share the sign-up link
  4. Be there - Someone needs to help us know when families arrive

That's it. We handle everything else.

How the Day Works

Before Picture Day

We'll send you a sign-up link to share with your families. Each family picks a time slot that works for them. This prevents long waits and keeps picture day running smoothly.

On Picture Day

We arrive early to set up our equipment - our signature grey backdrop, professional lighting, everything needed for great portraits. Families check in at their scheduled time, we photograph each child (and siblings together if they want), and they're done in about 10-15 minutes.

After Picture Day

Within 2-3 weeks, each family receives a link to their private online gallery. They can view all their photos, choose favorites, and order prints and digital downloads. No pressure, no deadlines - they buy only what they want.

What It Costs Your Co-op

Nothing. Organizing picture day is completely free for your co-op. We make our money when families choose to purchase photos - and there's never any obligation to buy.

If your co-op wants yearbook images or a directory, we can provide those too. We'll work out the details based on your specific needs.

Minimum Group Size

We typically ask for a minimum of 10 students to make picture day worthwhile for everyone. If your co-op is smaller, you might consider partnering with another local group or joining one of our mini session events.

Best Locations for Co-op Picture Day

We're flexible about location. Options include:

  • Indoor at your co-op space - We bring our backdrop and set up anywhere with reasonable lighting and a bit of space
  • A member's home - Living rooms, bonus rooms, or covered patios work well
  • Parks - Great for outdoor portraits with natural backgrounds
  • Churches or community centers - Wherever your co-op normally meets

We've photographed in all kinds of spaces. As long as we have about 10x10 feet of floor space and access to power, we can make it work.

Scheduling Flexibility

One of the best parts of working with homeschool families is schedule flexibility. Unlike traditional schools locked into specific picture day dates, we can work around your co-op's calendar:

  • Weekday mornings while other kids are in school
  • Saturday sessions
  • Before or after your regular co-op meeting day
  • Multiple sessions if your group is large

Sibling Photos Included

Since we're already set up and families are there, sibling photos are included at no extra charge. This is a homeschool perk - most traditional schools charge extra for sibling photos.

What Families Get

  • Multiple poses of each child
  • Professional editing on all images
  • Private online gallery to view and order from
  • Print packages from $35-$275
  • Digital download options starting at $35
  • No prepayment required - see photos first, then decide
