Picture day can feel like one more thing on your already full plate. We get it. That's why we've designed our process to minimize disruption to your day while getting great photos of every student.
Here's exactly what to expect when we arrive at your school.
Before We Arrive
What We Handle

- Setup and breakdown
- Student photography
- Image editing and processing
- Parent communication and ordering
- Delivery of prints directly to homes
What We Need From You
- A designated photo location
- Access to electrical outlets

- Someone to point us in the right direction when we arrive
That's it. No forms to distribute. No money to collect. No packets to hand out later.
Our Setup Process
We typically arrive 30-45 minutes before the first scheduled class to set up. Here's what happens:
- Unload equipment - We bring everything in rolling cases
- Set up backdrop - Our portable grey backdrop goes up quickly
- Position lighting - Professional studio lights ensure consistent results
- Test shots - We verify everything looks perfect
- Ready for students - Usually takes about 20-30 minutes total
We keep our footprint small and our setup clean.
The Photography Process
How Long Does Each Student Take?
About 30-45 seconds per student. We're efficient!
Here's the flow:
- Student steps up to the backdrop
- Quick hair/clothing check
- We engage them and get a natural smile
- Take 3-4 shots (multiple expressions)
- Quick review
- Next student
For a class of 25, plan for about 15-20 minutes total.
What Happens During Photography
Our photographer will:
- Greet each student warmly
- Position them correctly
- Engage them to get genuine expressions
- Capture multiple shots for variety
- Give a quick compliment and send them off happy
We don't need teachers to:
- Coach smiles
- Position students
- Manage behavior (we've got this)
- Stay with the class (though you're welcome to)
Your Role on Picture Day
Before Your Scheduled Time
- Remind students it's picture day
- Do a quick appearance check (hair, stains, etc.)
- Line up your class
During Photography
- Walk your class to the photo area
- Help maintain the line
- Step away or stay—your choice
- Collect your class when finished
After Photography
- Return to your schedule
- That's it! No follow-up tasks
Handling Common Situations
"My student is nervous about photos"
Let us know! We're experienced with camera-shy kids and have techniques to help them relax. Having a trusted teacher nearby can help too.
"A student refuses to be photographed"
We never force it. We might try a few gentle approaches, but we respect their choice. They can try again on retake day if they change their mind.
"My class is running late"
Things happen! Just get there when you can. We build buffer time into the schedule.
"A student has special needs"
Please communicate accommodations in advance. We work with therapeutic schools regularly and are experienced with adapting our approach.
"Can I stay with a student who needs support?"
Absolutely. Whatever helps us get a great photo for that child.

Questions Staff Commonly Ask
"What if a parent complains about the photos?" Direct them to us! Contact information is on every gallery. That's not something you need to handle.
"When will parents get their gallery links?" About 2-3 weeks after picture day. If parents ask, tell them to check email (including spam folder).
"What about retakes?" We schedule a retake day for students who were absent or want to try again. Same easy process.
"Can I see the photos before they go to parents?" Individual student galleries go directly to parents. Yearbook images go to administration.
We Make Picture Day Easy
Our goal is to get great photos while disrupting your day as little as possible. Teachers tell us all the time that our process is the easiest they've experienced.
