Bilingual Spanish Photographer — Austin, TX
We're hiring a bilingual Spanish-English photographer to serve Austin's Spanish-speaking school communities. Many schools across Austin and Central Texas serve families where Spanish is the primary language — those families deserve a photographer who speaks their language.
What You'll Do
Bilingual Family Engagement on Picture Day
Communicate naturally in Spanish with parents who accompany their children, answer questions about the photography session, explain the ordering process, and create a welcoming experience for families who may feel excluded when photographers only speak English.
Coordinate with Spanish-Speaking Administrators
Many Austin-area school administrators and office staff prefer to communicate in Spanish. You'll handle pre-day logistics, setup coordination, and picture-day flow in whichever language works best for the school — seamlessly switching as needed.
School Portrait Photography
Photograph individual and sibling portraits across Austin's diverse school communities. You'll work with students of all ages from pre-K through high school, directing them warmly in English or Spanish to capture portraits their families will love.
Build Community Trust
Schools in East Austin, Del Valle, Manor, Pflugerville, and South Austin serve student populations where Spanish-speaking families are the majority. Your bilingual presence builds the trust that turns one-time picture days into long-term school partnerships.
What We're Looking For
- Fluent conversational Spanish — required, not optional. You will communicate entirely in Spanish with some families and staff.
- English proficiency for coordination with our admin team and mixed-language school environments
- Patience, warmth, and genuine enjoyment working with children of all ages
- Own camera body and lenses preferred; we can discuss equipment if you're a strong candidate without gear
- Comfortable working in fast-paced school environments while keeping energy high
- Photography experience preferred — all levels considered for the right person
- Reliable transportation to schools across Austin, Manor, Del Valle, Pflugerville, and surrounding areas
Spanish fluency is the core requirement for this role. We will train the right person on photography technique, workflow, and picture-day logistics. What we cannot train is language — you must bring genuine fluency to communicate authentically with Spanish-speaking families.
